We have had the pleasure to fish many times on a 37 midnight express rigged for offshore fishing. The vessel is rigged with Yamaha HDPI’s and runs with the best of them.
The displacement of the hull allows for a smooth ride even in a nice chop. We are very surprised how quick the boats get on a plane with very little throttle. The boat pops onto a plan very fast and gets speed even faster.
Drift fishing is a pleasure as the boat doesn’t seem to rock near as much as other 37 foot boats we have fished on. The captain used a drift anchor to steady the boat and allow the lines to be fished off one side of the vessel.
Overall, this boat gives excellent performance, speed, and fish ability. We know why law enforcement love these boats and fisherman alike.
